who is the Scale Model Nerd?
I'm not a professional modeler, just a guy who loves building models.
Like many other modelers, I've built models on and off throughout my life. Only recently have I begun making my kits as realistic as possible. I've come to enjoy researching the real life counterpart to the kit I'm going to build. I sometimes try to do a small write-up on the history of the vehicle I'm building. If that sounds a little nerdy to you, just check out my blog name.

I typically build military aircraft, everything from World War II to modern day. But I don't limit myself to just aircraft. I build what I think looks cool. As you go through this blog, don't be surprised to see the occasional Y-Wing or Constitution Class starship alongside an F-16.

One of the things that I think will make this blog unique is that every model you see here is built completely out-of-the-box. I'd like to pretend I'm cool and say that I do this to challenge my modeling skills. The truth? I'm cheap. Modeling is expensive enough without throwing in a ton of photoetched or resin aftermarket parts. Anything that isn't out-of-the-box is scratch-built. Anything that I scratch-build will be accompanied by a tutorial on how I built that part.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
